SpotELF Launches "Pothole," a Community-Driven Road Damage Reporting Tool
New feature helps drivers collectively flag potholes and road hazards to improve visibility and prioritization across city streets
Mar 1, 2026
New York, NY – March 1, 2026 – SpotELF, a community-driven platform for driver services, today announced the launch of “Pothole,” a new feature that allows drivers to report potholes, cave-ins, and other road hazards directly through the SpotELF app.
In a city where road conditions can change rapidly, individual reports often go unnoticed or unresolved. Pothole addresses this challenge by aggregating multiple driver submissions over time, helping surface recurring problem areas and improve visibility into street conditions across New York City.
With the Pothole feature, users can quickly log the location of road damage they encounter while driving. As reports accumulate for the same location, SpotELF highlights high-impact areas and facilitates formal reporting through existing municipal channels, helping bring greater attention to locations that may require repair.
“Drivers experience the condition of our streets every day, yet their feedback is often fragmented,” said Spencer Bochkarev, CEO of SpotELF. “Pothole gives our community a simple way to collectively flag recurring road issues, helping shine a light on the places that need attention and improving the overall driving experience in New York City.”
Pothole is part of SpotELF’s phased rollout of location-based driver services, with new features launching gradually to ensure quality, reliability, and ongoing user feedback. The app is currently available by invitation only and can be accessed through a referral code from an existing SpotELF community member.
